If you have have a spill, liquids or foods, the best thing to do is take a rag or hand towel and place it over the area to dry the affected area up. Under no circumstance rub the area wth a rag, step on it with your foot or hand and blot the are until you have absorbed the wetness.  Lastly pour baking soda or baby powder over the entire affected area unitl you have enough on the stain to rise one quarter inch above the area, wait till dry and vacumn the area thuroughly
